THE SOMEK ESTATE WINERY,

ZIKHRON YA'AKOV,

THE NORTHERN COASTAL PLAIN

This family winery was founded in 2000 by Hila Ben Gera and Barak Dahan. It produces wines from vines near Zikhron Ya'akov that belong to the family and has been cultivated by it since 1882. The variety selection reflects well the typical Terroir of this region. Barak, a dedicated, professional grapegrower who grows and picks the grapes according to the unique style of the winemaker Hila, ensures personal, meticulous care throughout the grape growing process. Low crops, controlled irrigation and unique growing methods result in high quality raw material. The vines are planted on Zikhron Ya'akov hills, which have excellent drainage properties, medium, rich soil and western sea breezes that cool the grapes during the hot summer. The controlled, accurate maturing process ends with selective hand picking and very high fruit quality.
